Douglas County High School Key Club
Worried about our troubled teens? One visit to a Key Club Function and
you´ll know where our future leaders in business, education, and
government are spawning. Organized, chartered, and sponsored by the
Castle Rock Kiwanis Club, these high school students volunteer their
time to help others in need. Whether they´re spending time with
our senior citizens at area nursing homes, helping elementary students
with reading and writing, or holding a Zoo Day for disabled children,
these exemplary youth are learning the importance of giving back to
their community.
South Elementary Partnership
Our members take great pride in mentoring children of all ages, and
especially those of elementary school age. Once a week, a handful of
us can be found sitting on tiny chairs in the library, assisting teachers
with students needing help in writing. On another day, we can be found
moving rocks and planting trees and shrubs to help create an outdoor
amphitheater. A far easier task is supplying the funding for Outdoor
Education Scholarships for some of the students. Whatever the need,
South Elementary knows they have a partner in the Kiwanis Club of Castle
Rock.
